About us

Welcome to A Change of Garments

My journey with garments began as I'd watch my mom make garments by hand.  Surely there had to be a better way.  I was assigned to Home Economics & Sewing in the fourth grade; once this world opened up to me, I was addicted.  I received my first Morse sewing machine while in the Fourth Grade and for over the past fifty (50) years, I have been driven with passion and desire to serve others with my skill and talents whether serving in outreach, distributing new and used clothing, making and selling garments, serving a meal, or offering other products and services.

Today I specialize in designing priestly apparel for clergy and have two online eCommerce stores that I am currently building.

1) A Change of Garments and

2) D&B Fitness and More

I've designed garments for many to include my entire wardrobe for years.  My garments were all designed in pretty much the same order which included a long tunic with the Mandarin / Chinese collar neckline, maxi dresses, slacks, and long skirts.  It's now well over forty-five years later and the compassion and drive for garments are still very much present as if I was just introduced to it.

As I grew and matured in the Biblical perspective of garments; not only did garments make even more sense to me but the selection of garments that I would wear daily and the motive were all very important because whatever we put on at the start of the day will determine the entire order of the day.  Garments affect the way we walk, they affect one's mannerisms and actions.

Our line with A Change of Garments represents the brand for modesty; designed for women in ministry, intercessors, worship leaders, choirs, etc.  Modest apparel says, Lord if you can use anybody you can use me, I am available.  I like to view them more like servant's garments because while in them your very nature is to serve.  And, though many may complement your garments and want to wear them, it's important to note; unless you've been consecrated to wear clergy apparel, they will be nothing more than a long dress, long tunic, or duster and that's fine that's your preference.  The difference with clergy garments also known as holy garments is they are prayed over, consecrated unto the Lord for service and there is a reverence for the simple fact, it's a holy garment.  Once holy garments are mishandled, they become nothing more than common which simply means it's no longer valued.  You can take two people, put them in a garment; just by looking at them you can tell if they were consecrated for service or not because it is the anointing that makes the difference

Here's are a few examples:

Zechariah 3:1-4

  • Joshua the High Priest could not maximize his priestly potential because of the filthy garment.
  • The filthy garment represented his past life and mannerisms which, facilitated attacks rather than reverence.
  • Until God came to his rescue de-robing him of the former filthy garment and adorning him with a new garment, then he started manifesting goodness.
  • In Mark 10:46-52, we see blind Bartimaeus encountered Jesus and was to be healed, verse 50 says that he cast away his garment
  • He was known to be blind by the garment he was wearing.

Garments show the status of the one wearing them – social, religious, economic, educational, occupational, or even emotional.

According to the Biblical perspective, we are all called to minister whether intercessor, pastor, choir member, hostess, usher, facilities maintenance, etc.; we are Ambassadors for Christ and everything about our lives should represent our King.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light; which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy (1 Peter 2:9-10).

Garments are and will forever be a part of my life as they are associated with the apostolic and prophetic mantle upon my life.  In garments I am forever reminded of the accountability upon my life; outside of garments, I will never be able to reach my maximum potential in Christ Jesus.  Here I speak about garments as they represent a covering but overall, it's far more than that.  Garments affect one's spirit, attitude, actions, mannerisms and, they attract attention to you accordingly.
